What we Focus on

Stretch

Active & static stretching are demonstrated and performed in Matwork classes. We use props and bodyweight movements to help increase flexibility and mobility

The Reformer machine has the clear advantage when it comes to increasing your flexibiilty through the movements of the carriage & foot straps

Strengthen

Body weight exercises, resistance bands & handweights are essential small props in Pilates Matwork to tone & tighten muscles

Reformer classes have  resistance built in with springs of varying strengths which create resistance but we also use props in some classes for an extra challenge

Release

Trigger point & myofascia balls and sometimes foam rollers are used in every Pilatesbody Matwork classes. These release knots & tension in muscles to reduce pain & tension

These props are also used in Reformer Classes occasionally, this helps reduce muscle tension and stiffness in order for clients to move more freely and engage correct muscles

For over 2 decades Lisa has worked within the fitness & health industry. She has completed all her training in Pilates Matwork, Ante Natal Pilates, Personal Training, Reformer level 1 & all small Props. 

All of that coupled with her previous qualifications in Gym Instruction, Sport Injury Therapy and her wealth of knowledge regarding the human anatomy has led to Lisa’s classes to be in high demand and book out regularly

Stretching while strengthening muscles is the key to any Pilates class. wat different about Lisa’s matwork classes is they include the use of Trigger point balls / Myfascia / Spikey massage balls to loosen tight sore muscles thus increasing ROM & flexibility
